We've got a range of membership options to suit your pocket, your availability and your energy levels. We pride ourselves in being open and accessible to all. Membership starts at just £10.00 a month with hourly usage only £3.00 an hour. You can use the facilities as much or as little as you like. Or for just £50 a month you can use us for unlimited hours every week.
Print Membership
Pay As You Go
This is the basic package. For a small monthly fee you get access to the workshop on a pay as you go basis during open access hours.
Regular User
Unlimited hours!
This is for anyone averaging more than 3 hours a week with us. We want to encourage as much printing as possible, so we offer a monthly fee where you don't have to watch the clock and can come and go as much as you want.

How do I become a member?
We welcome new members any time of the year. We have two main types of membership, one pay as you go and one for open access. It's best to phone up to speak to Andy Magee, our Operations Manager, who manages all memberships. We can discuss whether you need an induction or are ready to start straight away. We can set up your membership straight away and your membership sheet, studio hours card and materials card will be ready for you when you first come in.
Do I need any experience to become a member?
We ask that you are comfortable and competent in the print processes you are interested in carrying on at Hot Bed Press. We have a mix of members from relative novices to experienced printmakers who sell their work at galleries and fairs and practice multi-disciplinary printmaking.
Do you have to do an induction before you start?
Not necessarily. We don't insist on an induction to be a member here. However, if you are unfamiliar with some aspects of the process you wanting to practice here, (screenprint, etching, relief print etc.), we can arrange a one-to-one with a Technician to help you feel completely at ease and at home here.
Starting your membership
For your first session with us we would book you in the diary so that we make sure a Technician has time to help you, show you where things are and will be around for questions.
Can I try before I buy?
You can't use the workshop unless you are a member, but we are always happy to show anyone interested in being a member around before they set up their membership. You need to see our lovely workshop to see what you are getting access to. It would be hard to find anywhere better equipped.
Outreach
Working with schools and arts organisations
We are proud to have worked with many schools, colleges and organisations over many years. At present we are so busy in the workshop, with more members than ever printing and learning to print on our daytime and evening courses we are not currently offering outreach services. We are looking to the future at expanding the workshop to add capacity to run workshops for schools and groups and add to our staffing to deal with demand for outreach print workshops. It will take time, money and support but we are working on hard on making it a reality.
